March for our Lives – Sunday March 24

As promised here are additional testimonials from members who attended a March for our Lives, on Sunday March 24.

Yvette Atkkins

“I am still “fired up” with so many thoughts about Saturday.

The sign I carried began with the words; “This person of faith…” I am a person of faith and Saturday, March 24, 2018 reinforced my faith and hope for the future.

From the beautiful beginning of the day, the “spiritual charge” being at the Reform Movement Gathering & Prayer Service, to the March itself and the speakers who inspired.

My faith and hope for the future of Reform Jewry was validated by the young men and women who led us in prayer and song.

My faith and hope for the future of our country, confirmed, by the young people at the March, who spoke with conviction about their goals, while eloquently honoring their friends whose lives were lost.

Every word invoked compassion and reignited my passion to do my part. I will continue to “march” with action, words…

“It was a wonderful experience that I shared walking with so many like minded people. It was very peaceful. People of all ages participated. I hope we accomplished our goal, universal background check, raising the age to 21 for gun purchases, banning semi-automatic rifles and lowering the capacity of magazines. By the way, I do believe in the second amendment and yes, you definitely can use my name.”

If we want a sensible application of our Constitution’s Second Amendment that takes into account 21st Century realities, we must keep the pressure on. Let our elected officials know what you expect them to do to represent the majority of American citizens who want sensible laws regulating the use of firearms.
