Dear BAS Family:
We are exploring ways we can be in touch with all of you even as we prepare for our next virtual Shabbat Service. These are very difficult times, so must strive to find innovative ways to stay connected and allow our Judaism to sustain and strengthen us.
1) To find our livestream service on YouTube Live:
Just click on this link: Click Here
That link will take you to my YouTube channel called: Rabbi Steve.
I may upload a recorded video with a short message just to get some content on my channel so you can practice going to my YouTube channel.
Since we have an 8:00 PM curfew, I will start the service at 6:00 PM Friday March 20th. I suggest joining the livestream at 5:30 PM, so you will have time to contact us if you have any problems by calling Melanie Giudice at 732-688-6945.
2) You can follow along in a virtual siddur (prayer book) by clicking the link. Click Here
It will take you to a digital version of Mishkan T’filah. I suggest you begin getting accustomed to it now, since there are a few tools that you want to be comfortable using. For example, you can enlarge the “page”, and you want to get used to turning pages, or seeing more than one page on the screen at a time.
You will be glad you took the time to do this, so using the digital siddur will not interfere with your prayer experience. Also, if you use the digital siddur on a computer, you will need another device to watch and listen to the livestream. The more savvy among you, technically speaking, may be able to see both on the same screen. (If you know how, please send me instructions! Thanks.)
This digital version is made available free of the charge by the publisher, the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR—the organization of Reform Rabbis.)
3) There may be occasions when we want to get a message to all of you very quickly by using a mass text message service called Rained Out. Signing up for this service is free and easy to do.
(If you have already signed up for Rained Out, you need not sign up again.)
Here’s how to sign up:
Text the name of our congregation as one word: bethamshalom to: 84483.
